The Bubbly Baker

Croissant in Paris

Hi everyone!

Thank you for dropping by and sharing my baking adventures with me πŸ™‚

I’m from Melbourne, Australia and I work a seemingly normal corporate job during the week, however turn into a crazy, bake-zilla by weekend. I love trying new recipes and I often refer to my $10 K-Mart beater as my best friend. I also like to think I have real human friends too, who all miraculously seem to be baked good addicts. I think I’m a very lucky girl.

A few things that I’m currently enjoying (as of May 2012):

1. Grey’s Anatomy (still, even after 7 years!)
2. Crazy Stupid Love (ummmmmm….. one word: Ryan)
3. “Wonder”, a book by RJ Palacio, recommended to me by one of my real life besties, Lily. I highly recommend it… it will make you reevaluate perceptions of you, your life, and others. Touching stuff.
4. Running. Still loving it, despite the cold Melbourne weather.
5. Friends. What would one do without them? I lost contact with a very good friend a while ago, however just recently made contact again and it seems as though nothing has changed. I missed her and I’m glad she’s back.
6. Banh Xeo. This is a Vietnamese dish consisting of stir fried mince pork, bean shoots, bamboo shoots, prawns and onion, pan fried into a thin yellow crepe.Β GenerouslyΒ douse in fish sauce and voila, deeeeeeeeeeeeelicioussss!
7. French musician Joyce Jonathan. Really loving her music and is sooooo suited for the sombre, dull winter mornings that we’ve been having lately.

And that’s all I can think of at the moment. Let me know if you share the same interests too, and we can be friends. Real lifeΒ Virtual friends are always welcome πŸ™‚

      • oooh, I usually read a lot of general fiction – some of my favourites include The Book Thief (Mark Zuckas), Shantaram (Gregory Roberts), To Kill a Mocking Bird. Nothing too violent, graphic, or war related.

  20. Hahaha corporate job by day, bake-zilla by weekend…that could totally describe me too!! Except sometimes I’m a bake-zilla by night as well…I really need to cut down on my baking. Anyway, just wanted to say that I totally want to eat that croissant croissant (?) in your photo, that I also LOVE Crazy Stupid Love and running! Mostly I love running to counteract all my baking. Ugh why are you in Australia?! I feel like we would be great real-life friends!

    • Gahhh we sound like twins! haha! I think we definitely would be real life friends if we lived around each other! I completely resonate with you – bakezilla by night, by early morning, by day, by afternoon – pretty much bakezilla any time, any day lol
I’m so happy to have come across your blog – I love how you’re on a detox now (because I am too!). Totally stalking your blog for some healthy recipes! (Getting sick of my spinach+chickpea+beetroot+cucumber+avo salad -.-)
