Red Velvet Cake

Red Velvet Cake

If you read the words I wrote last week you would have expected to see some more engagement cupcakes…. but truth be told I was in such a frantic rush and mess that I had absolutely no time to wipe the splattered frosting off my face let alone take photos. 😦

However I did manage to over estimate exactly how much batter I would have needed and so was left with too much extra batter for more cakes!

Red Velvet Cake

I ended up making this 6-inch red velvet cake and had enough for another one which I ended up freezing. So those who know me…. I have a red velvet cake sitting in my freezer all prepped and ready for frosting… so first come first serve πŸ™‚

Congratulations to my beautiful friend Rachel and her almost as beautiful fiance Jeff (heeeheee). Happy Engagement! Big O’s!

  1. Wow, what a gorgeous cake! I love that deep luscious red colour, and the backdrop is too cute! I wish I were better at styling my photos. I’ll come to your blog for inspiration πŸ™‚

    • Aww thank you – you really are too kind! All my ‘food styling’ is a complete fluke… I end up taking about 50 different shots and just pick out the ones that look remotely presentable πŸ˜›
Also the backdrop is actually some printed paper that I got in a scrapbooking paper pad… (shhhh!) πŸ™‚

      • lol thanks for sharing the secret…it’s safe with me πŸ˜‰ Since I started my blog I’m always on the hunt now for kitchen ware and props to punch up my photos. The Husband would be happy if I could do it on the cheap. Printed paper is a brilliant idea!
